M7 Services, a provider of managed IT services for the hospitality industry, announced that the company has been selected to execute the technical aspects of a continued rollout of mobile phone-based digital access solutions at over 1,500 hotels and resorts in the North American market. As part of an agreement, which was signed in late 2021, M7 will also provide ongoing technology support to properties that have previously implemented digital access and mobile key solutions.

Also referred to as mobile keyless entry or digital key, mobile key technology provides hotel guests with the ability to use their smartphone to securely access their assigned rooms, allowing them to bypass the front desk and go directly to their accommodations upon arrival. Originally introduced in 2014, the technology has gained traction in recent years as mobile phone-based digital solutions have become more widely embraced and utilized by hotel guests as a convenient way to manage their stay from pre-arrival to checkout. Today, most major global hotel organizations have now adopted some form of mobile key solution and are continuing to integrate it across their brand portfolios.

“Since the inception of our company, we have worked to forge strong relationships with some of the world’s leading hotel organizations, including Marriott and others, and we have been fortunate to work alongside their brands to deploy various technology implementation projects over the years,” said Charif Zahrane, CIO for M7 Services. “We are deeply honored to have been selected to be a part of this continued rollout of advanced mobile key technology to the industry.”

M7 was founded in 2014 with a hospitality-driven technology focus, including helpdesk services, project management, and technology consulting. Today, the company offers a full spectrum of hospitality IT management services.
