Former Procter & Gamble Innovation Leader to Deliver Opening Keynote at MURTEC Executive Summit

When having an experience is the expectation, brands have to find ways to be extraordinary. In order to be successful, today’s leaders have to think differently – not only about the business, but about the role they must play in order to blend the physical with the digital.

Dustin Garis, Former Chief Troublemaker at Procter & Gamble (Global Brand Innovation Leader, P&G FutureWorks), will share insights on how to break free from the shackles of a “what you must have” mentality and go deeper to find the next frontier of innovation and bring it to life during the opening keynote at the MURTEC Executive Summit. Through personal experiences and lessons from the world’s most innovative brands, Garis will help attendees rethink leadership mentality and offer a fresh perspective on how to navigate the digital landscape to uncover the true meaning of brand engagement and customer experience. From his own personal and professional journey, attendees will learn how to balance virtual with reality to emerge as a true leader and innovator during this age of hyper-authenticity and experience.

Throughout his disruptive career at some of the world’s most respected companies including The Coca-Cola Company and Procter & Gamble, Garis has become known as “Chief Troublemaker” for his innovative approach to brand-building and corporate entrepreneurship.

Garis was a leader of global marketing innovation for P&G FutureWorks—the innovation epicenter responsible for accelerating discontinuous growth by incubating, launching, and scaling a billion-dollar portfolio of breakthrough ventures worldwide. This includes P&G’s momentous shift into services with the Mr. Clean Car Wash and Tide Dry Cleaners. Garis also launched the P&G FutureWorks Emerging Markets division in Singapore, deploying new business models and early-stage technologies across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

With a particular focus on how brands can enrich lives, Garis offers examples of brands that are getting it right by “revolting against routine,” and creating memorable experiences to drive engagement among Millennial consumers and employees.

Beyond his leadership roles in corporate innovation and billion-dollar brands (Coca-Cola, Crest, Scope, Mr. Clean, Oral-B, Tampax, etc.), Garis now helps other organizations accelerate their innovation capabilities and culture. He shares lessons from the world’s most-innovative brands (Google, Zappos, Southwest Airlines, Airbnb, etc.), best practices in change leadership, as well as insight into the Millennial-led social movement LifeProfit, which is now fueling an experiential brand revolution across multinationals and entrepreneurial startups.

A sister event to MURTEC (Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference), the MURTEC Executive Summit will be an intimate gathering of senior-level executives, unique from other technology events in the industry. The format and content is designed to draw in technology thought leaders and influencers in a program that prioritizes group discussions, two-way dialogue, and collaboration amongst both peers and sponsors.

The audience of 75 senior-level technology decision makers and influencers from the nation’s leading and emerging restaurant brands will consist of C-suite, VP and director-level titles and is invitation only. Technology leaders will be joined by line-of-business executives who influence IT decisions – marketing, analytics, finance, customer experience and more.

The unique agenda includes collaboration exercises, with the intent to spark both peer-to-peer and peer-to-sponsor discussion. Sessions are designed to generate new ideas and conversations between attendees and technology experts. The strategic and relevant content focuses on driving innovation in today’s restaurant environment.

The MURTEC Executive Summit offers a low pressure environment for building relationships with potential partners. The inaugural MURTEC Executive Summit will take place November 5-7, 2017 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
